Commonwealth Games Gold medalist and BJP leader Babita Phogat on Sunday slammed Sakshi Malik and her wrestler husband Satyawart Kadian, a day after both of them made the claim over the permission to sit in protest at Jantar Mantar for the first time in January.
Babita said that the Congress party was using them as puppets. On Saturday, Sakshi Malik and her husband Satyawart had claimed that a permission to hold a sit in protest at Jantar Mantar had been taken by two BJP leaders Tirath Rana and Babita.
Sakshi Malik had tweeted that the protest was not politically motivated . She said they had taken the sit down protest in the month of January and the permission was taken by two BJP leaders seeking police permission. The two BJP leaders were Babita and Rana. Sakshi confirmed the protest was not Congress supported. She said harassment had being going since the last 10-12 years. She added a few wrestlers wanted to raise their voices but the wrestling fraternity was not united.
Kadian said their fight was against WFI chief Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh and not against the government. Babita Phogat responded to the tweet by saying that she felt sad and even laughed too after watching Sakshi and her husband’s video. She said she wanted to clarify in front of the media that the permission paper shown by Sakshi, neither had Babita’s name nor her signature on it.
She stated that there was no proof that the permission had been given by her. Phogat said that she had been saying from day one to have faith in the honourable Prime Minister and the judicial system. She expressed that she is completely confident that the truth will come out in the end. She said she did not advocate such a protest and had told the wrestlers to talk to the Prime Minister or the Home Minister. As they would definitely have solution to the problem.
Babita added that the threat of immersing medals in the Ganga had embarrased the whole country.
