In yet another incident of police brutality, a senior police officer of Bihar’s Muzaffarpur brutally thrashed a man whom he caught gambling, during a raid.
A video of the incident has surfaced on the internet.
In the video, it can be seen a young man’s hands were held by two men and a policeman is charging batons on him.
In the video it can clearly be seen the poor man kept crying pleading to let go of him but the merciless cop enjoyed beating and seemed unstoppable.
The incident is reported from Baruraj police station in Bihar’s Muzaffarpur district.
The video also shows the people present in the spot were chased by the police man after he found out a video was being recorded.
As per reports, the police officer in the video has been identified as Sub-inspector Sujit Mishra.
Reports claimed, Mishra had conducted a raid just two days prior to the incident and during the raid, some men were detained by the police for involving in gambling and playing cards.
The police after detaining them chose to physically assault, the video of which is now out.
As per reports, the two men who are seen holding the victim’s hands in the video were the brokers or informants of the police.
The investigation into the matter is underway. SSP Rakesh Kumar is probing the authenticity of the incident and has directed for appropriate action after the findings.
The Baruraj police has been in the circles again after this incident, in August 2020, there was a case of several police officers beating a man in an anti police protest resulting to him getting hospitalised and parts of his body got fractured.
