Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) national president Chirag Paswan held a party meeting, Ram Vilas Paswan faction, in Patna hours after meeting Union minister and BJP leader Nityanand Rai. The meeting was held to examine potential partnerships for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
The two sessions are held simultaneously amid widespread speculation that Chirag Paswan will join the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA).
Discussions about the LJP’s partnership in light of the approaching 2024 Lok Sabha elections and 2025 Bihar Assembly elections took place during the meeting today. After meeting with party leaders in Patna, the LJP head remarked, the party leaders gave him permission to decide on an alliance.
Alliance-related conversations are still ongoing. Before taking leaving for Delhi, Chirag Paswan declared, being a minister is not my priority. Party officials gave Chirag Paswan the green light to decide on the alliance at the meeting.
The Jamui MP said talks are ongoing towards joining the NDA. Before the final decision is made, nothing should be said, he said.
There is much talk about Chirag Paswan perhaps joining the BJP’s central government. He just received Z-category protection after the Intelligence Bureau noted threats to his life in its assessment.
This is our old house, Nityanand Rai remarked after meeting with Minister of State for house Affairs Chirag Paswan. Meeting with us always feels positive, he said. The BJP and Ram Vilas Paswan have worked for the benefit of the general public.
The impending doom of Prime Minister Modi’s popularity, on the other hand, is what has kept the Opposition united. They don’t have a leader or a strategy. PM Modi should teach them about leadership, service, and policy, the BJP leader said.
Chirag Paswan had already declared that he would run for office in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections from the Hajipur Lok Sabha seat. He asserted that he was the true heir and that the seat was his father’s legacy.
Meanwhile, Pashupati Kumar Paras, the leader of another LJP faction and the younger brother of Ram Vilas Paswan, claimed to be the MP from that area and that his elder brother had granted him the Hajipur seat.
