The Punjab Police detained Mandeep Kaur, also known as Daku Haseena, in connection with the June 10 heist of Rs 8 crore 49 lakh in Ludhiana. It’s interesting that the flavouring beverage, which cost Rs 10, was key in aiding police in apprehending the criminal.
At Hemkund Sahib in Chamoli, Uttarakhand, Mandeep Kaur and her husband Jaswinder Singh were taken into custody. To express gratitude for the successful completion of the crime, they planned a trip to the Sikh shrine. Along with the couple, police also detained Gaurav, another suspect, in the Gidderbaha of Punjab. Nine of the twelve suspects in the investigation have been taken into custody by police so far.
The couple was caught with Rs 21 lakh after falling for a bevarage of Rs 10 police trap.
Mandeep Kaur and her husband Jaswinder Singh were reportedly planning to flee to Nepal, according to information received by Punjab Police. The police said, but first, they were going to several shrines, including Hemkunt Sahib, Kedarnath, and Haridwar.
They were both at the Sikh shrine in Uttarakhand and it was difficult for police to spot them in the crowd of pilgrims. The police so planned a trap for them. Police decided to provide pilgrims with free drinks.
The accused couple then started to walk toward the beverage counter. They needed to uncover their faces in order to drink beverages since they were attempting to prevent being seen with their faces covered. The police were thus able to identify them.
However, despite being identified, Mandeep Kaur and Jaswinder Singh were not detained right away. Police enabled them to make offerings at Hemkund Sahib. The couple was only thereafter followed by the police for a considerable distance.
