A 20-year-old man was shot in the leg and robbed of Rs 1 lakh by assailants on Monday morning. The incident took place in Subhash Place. The victim has been identified as Ritesh. He works as an accountant in an oil company and was returning from work.
The Delhi Police asserted that when Ritesh was returning from work on his scooty when three bike borne assailants attacked him and robbed him of money amounting to Rs 1 lakh. When the victim tried to fight back, the assailants shot him on his leg and fled from the crime scene. The incident occurred at 9:15pm on Monday.Â
The police stated that with the help of CCTV cameras installed at the stop, they were able to identify the accused. They ascertained that the accused will be arrested soon. Following the incident, Ritesh was hurried to a nearby hospital and he is currently undergoing treatment there.
For the last few days, incidents of robbery and stabbing have been on the rise in the national capital. On Sunday, a 20-year-old man was stabbed to death in Delhi by unidentified persons in Rajnit Nagar police station limits. The Delhi Police claimed that at around 4:15 pm, they received information, stating that a person had been stabbed at Sangam Colony, Pandav Nagar. The officials added that they immediately reached the spot to find that the injured was taken to a nearby hospital, where he was declared brought dead.
In addition, on Saturday Delhi Police affirmed that two persons have been arrested for allegedly stabbing a 22-year-old man in front of his father in the Delhi Cantonment area. Reportedly, a video of the killing also went viral on social media. As per the Delhi Police, a PCR call was received on June 24, narrating that two persons have stabbed a man near Barat Ghar, Jharera village, Delhi Cantonment.
After receiving the information, a team of Delhi police along with their staff reached the spot and they noted that the man with stabbing injuries had been taken to AIIMS Trauma Centre, where he succumbed to his injuries.
