The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation has issued a statement that the metro services between Rajiv Chowk and Mandi House will remain closed on Sunday, July 23. The DMRC came with this decision due to planned maintenance work on a section of Blue Line. The operations on this line will be regulated in the initial hours upto 6 am.
The DMRC said in a statement, to undertake the scheduled maintenance work between Rajiv Chowk and Mandi House Metro stations on the Blue Line (Line-3&4 i.e. Dwarka Sec-21 to Noida Electronic City/Vaishali) on July 2023 (Sunday), train services on the Line will be regulated.
The Delhi Metro’s commuters who wish to travel beyond Rajiv Chowk or Mandi House Stations till the maintenance of train services is completed need to de-board at respective stations and use Yellow and Violet lines to reach Mandi House or Rajiv Chowk stations and continue their travel on Blue line further.
As the train services will be affected between Rajiv Chowk and Mandi House metro stations. Therefore, Barakhamba Road Metro station will remain closed until the resumption of train services on this section until 6 am.
Apart from this, train services on the rest sections of the Blue Line such as from Dwarka Sec-21/Dwarka to Rajiv Chowk and Mandi House to Noida City Centre/Vaishali will continue to remain available as per the normal timetable during this period.
The report says in order to update the commuters about the changes, regular announcements will also be made at the stations and inside the trains and additional staff will also be deployed to facilitate the commuters.
The train services from Noida City Centre to Noida Electronic City section will start at 08:00 am, according to the routine Sunday timetable.
According to DMRC, the maintenance is generally carried out into parts like the under-frame, the interiors, and the roof. This is not just scheduled maintenance. They also do active, preventive maintenance. The basic check is done every day at the depot.
