Delhi rains trend on Twitter as netizens shares videos and photos of flooded roads

The Lieutenant Governor of Delhi V K Saxena issued a new letter to stop the engagement of fellows and advisors without his approval. This new order will completely strangulate the Delhi government’s services and functioning.

The Chief Minister of Delhi, Arvind Kejriwal said this will completely strangulate Delhi government and its services. He further added he does not understand what Hon’ble LG will achieve by doing all this. Referring to the Supreme Court of India, he said SC will immediately quash it.

The order came days after LG VK Saxena terminated around 400 specialists appointed under the Kejriwal government in various departments without prior notice, citing alleged irregularities in recruitment. The decision was framed as unconstitutional by the Aam Aadmi Party, now the party planned to challenge it in SC.

Moreover, it also said the Arvind Kejriwal-led government has no right to appoint or engage such manpower without the Lieutenant Governor’s approval.

The Services Department of Delhi which generally reports to the Lieutenant Governor issued an advisory to all departments, boards, commissions, and autonomous bodies under the Delhi government on Wednesday directing them to stop engaging specialists as fellows and advisors without the approval of the Lieutenant Governor.

The Department also asked the Finance Department not to release salaries to those who have engaged without the Lieutenant Governor’s approval and instructed other departments to forward their cases with proper justification to the Lieutenant Governor for consideration.

The Lieutenant Governor’s office had earlier said the appointments also did not follow the mandatory reservation policy for scheduled castes, scheduled tribes, and other backward classes prescribed by the constitution.

Since the formation of the AAP government in Delhi, it has been witnessed that Delhi and the central government fight to take over the controls of the city’s bureaucracy. The Supreme Court of India, in its recent verdict, had given control to the Delhi government.
