A woman from Haryana’s Gurugram was reportedly gang raped after being dragged by a man she met on a dating app. The horrific incident took place in Gurugram’s Sector 50 when she went to meet the accused in a hotel room on invitation. According to reports, the accused along with his friends, raped, filmed and threatened the victim.
In accordance with the woman’s complaint, the accused invited the victim to the hotel on June 29. Following that, she went to meet him. After having food with the accused and his friend, she passed out. Later, the accused allegedly sexually assaulted the woman and even filmed it. Reportedly, the accused man was threatened to make her video public.
According to news reports, the woman in her statement asserted that she somehow managed to return to her home and then contacted the police. Reports stated that the two unidentified defendants were the subject of an First Information Report lodged under the charges of gang rape at Gurugram sector 50 police station. Station House Officer concerned to the matter affirmed that an investigation is being carried out.
In another similar incident, a Bhojpuri musician was reportedly raped by an Instagram friend at a hotel in Gurugram. As far as reports are concerned, in this case, the accused had contacted her under the guise of an interview. The 24-year-old victim identified herself as a Bhopjuri performer to the concerned police. As per reports, the Bhojpuri musician stays in Delhi and has a sizable social media fan following.
The Bhojpuri performer in her complaint to the police mentioned that a few days ago, she came in contact with a person named Mahesh Pandey through Instagram, who offered her work in the Bhojpuri film industry. On June 29, he called her in a hotel in the Udyog Vihar area in Gurugram on the pretext of an interview. The woman added that the accused threatened to share her private videos on the internet if she contacted the police.
