Income tax officials raid YouTuber’s home in Uttar Pradesh


In Kayas village in the Raison district of Kullu, nine vehicles were washed away, houses were damaged, and the road was cut off. In Spiti’s Pin Valley, livestock was killed by unusually cold temperatures and snowfall, and the school year was prolonged.

At Kayas village in the Raison area of Kullu district early on Monday, a flash flood brought on by a cloudburst claimed the life of a man and injured three others who were in the same car.

A rescue team has reached Kayas, according to State Disaster Management Authority (SDMA) director DC Rana, who also stated that eight further vehicles were washed away, a house was destroyed, and roads to the village were cut off owing to heavy rain.

Khem Chand, Suresh Sharma, and Kapil were hospitalised while Badal Sharma of the Kullu village of Chansari was swept away in the car.

Rain is expected in Himachal Pradesh through July 22, according to the IMD.

The state administration has added a day to the winter break by closing the schools due to the orange signal for heavy rain. These include the schools in the Chamba district’s Kinnaur, Pangi, and Bharmour regions. Since July 11, schools in these places have been shuttered.

Heavy rain, cloudburst, and landslides have claimed 37 lives and caused widespread damage across the state since July 8 with Kullu and Mandi districts bearing the brunt. Twelve people are still missing.

Nearly 400 sheep died due to extreme cold in the high-altitude Pin Valley, while 1,200 sheep were rescued in Lahaul and Spiti districts that received snow.

Additional deputy commissioner, Lahaul-Spiti, Rahul Jain said that 12 Gaddi (nomadic) shepherds, stranded due to heavy rain and snowfall from Spiti’s Pin Valley towards Bhawa Pass, had been rescued. As many as 1,200 stranded sheep and goats were taken to safer places. When the administration’s team inspected the spot, it found 400 sheep dead and 50 missing.
