Indian Army does yoga in Ladakh’s Pangong Tso lake as India celebrates 9th International Yoga Day


Vice President Jagdeep Dhankar celebrated the 9th International Yoga Day by attending a programme in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh this morning.

Dhankar who is heading the national celebrations this year, performed yoga during the celebrations in Jabalpur and addressed the gathering.

VP Dhankar highlighted the importance of yoga and benefits saying it is the key to a healthy life.

He said Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his speech on today’s occasion said a person not healthy, is not wealthy, as to put our wealth into utilisation we need to be healthy.

PM Modi in a virtual mode addressed the yoga day gatherings across the nation today morning.

The Vice President invited the people and encouraged to do yoga saying it is the key to a healthy life, which is the wealth of an individual.

The theme for the International Yoga Day 2023 is Yoga For Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam, which means Yoga for the well-being of all in the theme of One World, One Family.

The theme symbolises the spirit of Yoga that aims to unite the world and walk together in the journey towards a healthy lifestyle.

The theme was annouynced by PM Modi during his 102nd Maan Ki Baat address on Sunday.

Celebrations for the 9th edition of the International Yoga Day is taking place all across the world in full swing.

PM Modi who landed in the US last night on his first state visit is going to take part in the Yoga Day celebration in the United Nations Headquarter in New York.

The Prime Minister is going to perform Yoga and the same location where India’s proposal to mark Internaational Yoga Day was taken up and accepted on December 21, 2014.

Union Ministers like Rajnath Singh, Amit Shah Nitin Gadkari and others are also taking part in the celebrations performing yoga at various events across the country.
