The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) on Tuesday asserted that ticketing services will not be available on its website and mobile application owing to some technical reasons. The public sector undertaking under the Union Ministry of Railway affirmed that its technical team is working as of now to resolve the issue. Taking to Twitter, the IRCTC mentioned that due to technical reasons, the ticketing services will not be available on IRCTC site and App. It added that alternatively tickets can be booked through other B2C players such as Amazon, Makemytrip etc.
Here are the steps to book train tickets from alternative platforms:
Amazon:
Open Amazon app
Select the “Amazon Pay” tab
Under “Book Tickets”, choose “Trains”
Enter your travel destinations and select the stations
Fill in the necessary travel details, such as dates of travel
If you prefer to travel in AC class, tick the relevant box in the app
For other train options, explore “find train” feature and use filters to customize your search
The app will display available trains along with their routes
Select the most suitable train option for your journey
Choose specific categories such as ‘General’, ‘Senior Citizen’, or ‘Ladies’
On finalized, click on “Proceed”
In order to complete the booking, the traveller will need their IRCTC credentials, including IRCTC account ID and password. One can also create an IRCTC account on Amazon by clicking the “Click Here” option which will redirect to the IRCTC website.
After entering the IRCTC credentials, the payment can be made through a preferred method.
Other third party platform
Head to the train ticket section first.
Enter your travel details, such as your departure city, destination city, date, and time of travel. Add details as required.
Select a train, the website will then show you all the available trains.
Choose your seat, some services will allow you to choose your seat while some others will assign you a seat automatically.
Make the payment and enter your payment details and complete the purchase.
You will receive a confirmation email with your ticket details.in addition, some services will also send you a mobile ticket which you can show on your smartphone.
