Kargil Vijay Diwas is celebrated every year across the country on July 26th to pay tribute to the bravery and valor of the Indian soldiers who made the ultimate sacrifice for the country during the Kargil War in 1999. The day is celebrated to commemorate the victory of Operation Vijay, a significant military victory over the neighbouring country Pakistan during the Kargil War. In an effort to pay tribute to Kargil war hero Captain Vijayant Thapar, the DLF Mall of India in Noida portrayed the martyred Captain’s uniform in the mall. The picture of the same has gone viral across the social media platform.
Martyred Captain Vijayant Thapar’s father retired Colonel Virender Thapar tweeted a photo of himself standing alongside his son’s uniform. Sharing the post, Virender Thappar wrote that he was standing in front of Martyr Son’s uniform displayed at DLF Mall, Noida. He added that the uniform symbolises the unity of the fraternity and their values. He mentioned that functions are being held to honour the uniform for a week on Kargil Vijay Diwas. He concluded his tweet with the slogan ‘Jai Hind’. As seen in the viral picture, Captain Thapar’s father retired Colonel Thapar and his mother Tripta Thapar. Captain Vijayant Thapar was fatally shot during the Kargil war’s knoll assault on June 29, 1999 when he was just 22 years old.
The heart-touching tweet received nearly 190.8K views along with 720 retweets and 5512 likes. Reacting to the picture, one social media user expressed that the country is highly indebted to their son for his supreme sacrifice at such a young age mentioning his deepest regards to Shaheed Captain Vijyant Thapar. Another Twitter user saluted Captain Vijyant Thapar and all the heroes adding that the nation always remembers them and that they keep inspiring the entire country. Recalling Captain Vijyant as a legend, a social media user said that Captain Vijyant will always be a true hero and will always be in every heart of the Indians.
