Karnataka HC dismisses Twitter plea against government’s account blocking order, imposes Rs 50 lakh cost

Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Admi Party (AAP) national convener Arvind Kejriwal, reshuffled his cabinet for the third time in four months, giving Saurabh Bhardwaj and Atishi Marlena Singh, who joined the cabinet after Manish Sisodia and Satyendar Jain resigned in March of this year, the important portfolios of Finance, Planning, and Revenue.

With the inclusion of these portfolios, Atishi—who was just appointed to the cabinet four months ago—has vaulted to the second-ranking post.

The only female minister in Delhi’s cabinet of seven, including the chief minister, is Atishi, who collaborated closely with Sisodia on improvements to the educational system. She has been assigned six ministries — Women and Child Development, Education, Tourism, Art, Language and Culture, PWD, and Power. She had been given the responsibility for public relations earlier in June, and now she also has the responsibility for finance and revenue. She currently oversees 10 departments and ministries, up from six previously.

Being in charge of all three ministries made Kailash Gahlot, the minister of transport for Delhi, the most crucial loser in this reshuffle. In reality, Gahlot had delivered the Delhi budget in Sisodia’s place. Home, Law, Justice and Legislative Affairs, Transportation, Administrative Reforms, and Information Technology are still held by Gahlot.

Protection, Services, Health, Industries, Urban Development, Irrigation, and Flood Control, and Water are under the purview of Saurabh Bhardwaj. His portfolios have not been expanded, in contrast to Atishi, despite the fact that he now has the crucial portfolios of Services which was formerly held by Manish Sisodia and Vigilance was previously held by Satyendra Jain.

Evidently, Atishi, an AAP MLA for Kalkaji, has benefited the most from the reshuffle. She is also the sole cabinet member to have accompanied Kejriwal on his mission to enlist opposition party backing against the Center’s decree on May 19 regarding control of administrative services in the capital.
