A shocking case has been reported in Maihar town of Satna district in Madhya Pradesh where a 12-year-old girl was raped, bitten multiple times and brutalised allegedly by two men working for the trust managing a famous temple.
The duo also allegedly inserted a hard object in her private parts on Thursday, as per the reports. Both were arrested by police on Friday morning.
According to police, the girl was abundantly bleeding and admitted to a hospital at the divisional headquarters Rewa for advanced medical care. The accused were identified as Ravindra Kumar Ravi and Atul Bhadoliya.
Satna Superintendent of Police Ashutosh Gupta confirmed that a stick or some other object was inserted into the 12-year-old’s private parts by accused Ravindra Kumar Ravi and Atul Bhadoliya. He added this will be confirmed once a medical report is received. The victim was bleeding and doctors have been monitoring her health, her body bore bites and injuries which pertain to sexual assault, he further added.
Both accused aged 30, were produced in a local court on Friday. They were sent for 14-day judicial custody. The duo was booked under several IPC sections and relevant provisions of Protecting Children from Sexual Offences Act, the police said.
In a press statement issued by the Maa Sharda Devi Mandir Management Committee, Maihar stated that they have sacked Ravi and Bhadoliya, who were employed with them, immediately after a criminal case was registered against them. It added their indecent act has damaged the image of the temple.
According to the report, the accused allegedly lured the girl and took her to an isolated place, where they raped and assaulted her.
The sub-divisional officer of police, Maihar, Lokesh Dabar said the police arrested the duo on Friday morning. The victim was admitted to the Rewa hospital after being administered first aid at Maihar, he added.
Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has directed the police to take strict action against the accused for this heinous crime.
Condemning the incident, Madhya Pradesh Congress president Kamal Nath said the victim was subjected to an inhuman attack which reminds of the 2012 Nirbhaya case in Delhi.
