In an unfortunate incident, fire broke out at a market in Madhya Pradesh’s Indore city on Thursday morning. A fire brigade official asserted that one of the shops was completely gutted in a blaze which erupted at Siyaganj market. He added that no casualties have been reported as yet.
Initially, the fire broke out at a pesticides and chemical shop which was completely gutted and the flames also engulfed a portion of a nearby grocery shop, according to reports. The fire brigade official added that a team of 25 members of the fire brigade used nearly 5 lakhs liters of water and 1000 liters of foam in an effort to put the blaze under control. Reportedly, the Siyaganj market was closed at the time of the incident. The official added that the cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained.
Earlier in June, a massive fire broke out at Bhopal’s Satpura Bhawan, that houses offices of various departments of the Madhya Pradesh government.Considering that the building houses offices of various departments of the state government, it prompted authorities to call in fire tenders from the Army, Airport Authority of India (AAI) and facilities of oil companies, officials and the chief minister’s office (CMO) then said.
The fire started on the third floor around 4 pm and spread to the sixth floor. Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivaraj Chauhan apprised Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Home Minister Amit Shah about the fire and sought assistance in dousing it, according to an official.
Following the incident, the Prime Minister ascertained the chief minister of all possible assistance from the Centre for controlling the blaze, the official remarked. However, in a turn of events, Madhya Pradesh Congress chief and former Chief Minister Kamal Nath had slammed the ruling BJP government claiming that this is one more example of corruption. He questioned whether the fire erupted accidentally or it was purposely done. According to reports, nearly 12,000 files were destroyed in the fire.
