US President Joe Biden and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi shared a cheerful moment during a State dinner held at the White House. They both raised toast and Biden shared humorous advice of his grandfather on raising a toast without alcohol.
There were almost 400 guests present at the moment. He said his grandfather used to tell him that if someone had offered him a toast, and he did not have any alcohol in the glass, he must have done it with his left hand. People present in the hall started laughing, and the moment became more humorous when the translator attempted to convey the humorous remark in Hindi.
President Biden expressed his gratitude towards PM Modi and said, he and First Lady Jill Biden had spent a great time with PM Modi, they had celebrated the strong bonds of relationship between India and the United States. Biden called it a productive visit.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi too expressed his happiness and acknowledgment to US President Biden for hosting the dinner and he also thanked First Lady Jill Biden for making his visit successful. He further said he was grateful to both for opening the doors and extending a grand welcome in the White House.
PM Modi highlighted the significance of the guest’s presence and patience. He said that they symbolise the energy, dynamism, and potential of the US-India relationship. He further added the evening had become more special by the presence of the people of the two countries US and India.
The State Dinner at the White House had an impressive gathering of prominent figures from various industries. Prominent personalities from business, fashion, and entertainment were witnessed. Among the distinguished guests were designer Ralph Lauren, filmmaker M. Night Shyamalan, and tennis legend Billie Jean King. Tech leaders from Apple, Google CEO Sundar Pichai, and Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella were also present in the House.
