Congress leader Rahul Gandhi visited a motorcycle mechanics workshop in Delhi’s Karol Bagh on Tuesday. He interacted with them and talked about the issue they faced in this profession.
Gandhi shared the pictures of his interaction on Facebook and said referring to the Bharat Jodo Yatra that he has been learning from the people who have been working towards making India great and keep moving.
Gandhi could be seen interacting with the mechanics at their workshop and tried repairing the broken bikes. Congress party said in Tweet, the hands of the mechanics made India, and the grease on their clothes has been India’s pride and dignity. Congress party praising Gandhi said he is a people’s hero who worked to encourage others. Congress said the Bharat Jodo Yatra continued.
The former MP in his bid to meet and establish a connect with the common people across the country following the Bharat Jodo Yatra had been witnessed for past some months now with his visit to some of the historical food joints across Old Delhi, his recent truck rides in India and the United States and now this visit to the mechanics shop.
Gandhi had also hitched on a truck ride from Delhi to Chandigarh where he interacted with Indian truck drivers at a motel about the problems that they face while they are away from home driving for days, weeks and sometime months.
During his recent trip to the United States, Gandhi also took a truck ride from Washington DC to New York. He interacted with the drivers and discussed their life as truck drivers in the US, comparing the difference between the life of an Indian truck driver and a person who drives a truck in the US.
During the Karnataka elections, he was seen visiting the college students and women at a bustling Bengaluru Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) bus and interacting with them over a meal of masala dosa and coffee. Gandhi also visited the men’s hostel of Delhi University and had lunch with them.
Gandhi announced his two-day visit to violence-struck Manipur starting from June 29 where he will visit relief camps and interact with members of the civil society.
