UPI catches a killer: Chennai godman caught for sending money to son after killing wife


The Yamuna River’s water level in Delhi on Monday crossed the danger line, according to the Central Water Commission (CWC).

Delhi’s Yamuna has a danger threshold of 205.33 metres and a warning mark of 204.5 metres. On Monday at 1 pm, the Yamuna crossed the red line.

The Yamuna in Delhi was anticipated to cross the danger mark on Tuesday between 10 am and 12 pm, according to the CWC.

After Haryana released more than a million cubic seconds of water on Sunday, Yamuna’s water level unexpectedly rose above the danger mark. The Delhi govenment issued a flood alert after Haryana’s release.

According to reports 4,000 cusecs of water were released on Sunday from the Kaushalya Dam in Haryana and 1.00.000 cusecs from the Hathini Kund Barrage in Yamunanagar district. According to sources, Haryana had issued a general warning for the release of 3,00,000 cusecs of water.

This year, Delhi has had rainfall that is unprecedented. Delhi recorded 153 mm of rain in the 24 hours ended at 8:30 am on Sunday, the most rain for a single day in 41 years. Delhi has experienced waterlogging, and the government ordered all schools to be closed on Monday.

Around 37,000 people live in Delhi’s low-lying neighbourhoods near the Yamuna, which are said to be prone to flooding.

The first heavy rainfall of the season hit Delhi as a result of the interplay of a western disturbance and monsoonal winds, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Saturday.

Between 8.30 am and 2.30 pm, the Safdarjung Observatory, the city’s main weather station, reported 98.7 mm of rain. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Chandigarh and Ambala reported record rainfall of 322.2 mm and 224.1 mm, respectively, while Delhi received 153 mm in a 24-hour period ending at 8:30 am on Sunday, the most in a single day in July since 1982.
