An UPSC aspirant from Uttar Pradesh died by suicide allegedly after being harassed by three policemen in Lucknow. The police confirmed the incident on Sunday. According to the officials, the victim who is identified as Ashish Kumar was preparing for UPSC examination in Lucknow.
Ashish Kumar in a suicide note accused three police officers of harassing him and falsely implicating him in a case. The suicide note was discovered by the family members of the victim. The officials noted that the victim left behind a suicide note in which he alleged that he was being harassed by the three policemen and was being falsely implicated by him in a case. This situation left him with no other option but to quit his life.
Speaking to the ANI, DCP West, Lucknow, Rahul Raj said that the three police officers have been transferred to the police lines on the grounds of a complaint filed by the students family members to ascertain a fair investigation in the matter.
The DCP noted that a case of suicide by a person named Ashish Kumar has come to light in the police station Rahimabad. He asserted that the victim’s family have given a suicide note to the police in which the names of the three policemen of Rahimabad police station are mentioned. He further added that ACP Malihabad has been ordered to investigate the matter. He also assured that the suicide note will be examined.
Furthermore, DCP West, Lucknow, Rahul Raj also mentioned that all three policemen have been transferred to the police line in an attempt to ensure that the probe is carried out in a fair and unbiased manner. He added that they are looking into the case further and that the investigations pertaining to the case are still being carried on.
