The Delhi Police recently shared a video on Twitter, which has gone viral on the internet. In the video, a bride can be seen riding a scooter without a helmet while grooving to the song Vaari Vaari Jaaun. The police released the video to remind people of basic traffic rules, like wearing a helmet, and of the penalties for breaking the law.
The Delhi Police tweet said, “Going Vaari Vaari Jaaun on the road for a reel makes your safety a REAL WORRY! Please do not indulge in acts of BEWAKOOFIYAN! Drive safe” Since posting, the video has got 60,000 views and more than 900 likes on Twitter.
The bride was making this reel for getting a few likes and shares on Instagram, which have now landed her in trouble.
The woman riding the scooter without a helmet, wearing a golden lehenga and accessorised with jewels, was shown in the first half of the video, while the other half of the video showed a challan (traffic ticket) from 10 June that listed two violations of the law for which she was fined a total Rs 6,000. She was penalised Rs 5,000 for driving without a licence and Rs 1,000 for riding a two-wheeler without a helmet.
Meanwhile, the savage post of the Delhi Police was praised by Twitter users. Much needed! one individual commented.
Book them under the appropriate IPC if they commit offences repeatedly, another said.
Impressive way of sharing a clear message with the general public, other users said. While one user praised the sense of humour used by Delhi Police to spread awareness, the user wrote, what a beautiful and original approach to communicating the repercussions of an offence.
Social media is replete with people doing stunts on bikes, cars and scooters. The police act on the violations as soon as they come to notice the incident. Among the crazier ones spotted, was the video of a Gurugram man doing push-ups on the roof of his moving car after being suitably drunk.
