In an argument broke out between lawyers, gunshots were fired at Tis Hazari Complex in Delhi today.
A video has surfaced that showcases some lawyers gathered engaging in a clash with abusive languages used in the background, while one among them can be seen holding a pistol in his hand and firing several rounds in the air.
As per Delhi police officials, the incident was reported at around 1:35 pm and no injuries were reported. The situation is stable now and a legal action has already been initiated.
Reportedly, a total of 9 rounds were fired. The argument broke out between two lawyers over some matter, which escalated to this extent.
The incident took place near the West wing chamber no 433/434 of the Court.
Delhi Bar Council Chairman KK Manan speaking on the incident said a detailed inquiry into the incident will be taken place and it will be verified whether the weapon in question was a licensed one or not.
Manan said no matter even if the weapons used were licensed, no individual or a lawyer has the right to use them inside or around the court premises.
This is the second incident of firing inside a Court complex in the capital. Earlier on April 22, a firing was reported at Delhi’s Saket Court that had injured a woman and a lawyer’s clerk.
The man who had fired the gunshot was a suspended advocate identified as Kameshwar Kumar Singh, 49, who was later arrested from his residence in Faridabad.
The victim woman M Radha sustained two bullet injuries, one grazed her left abdomen and another her right arm. The clerk Ajay Singh Chauhan also got injury in his right arm in the scuffle.
