In a video doing the rounds on social media, a elephant calf can be seen stuck in the middle of the river while the water current seems to be fierce. However, a group of Sashastra Seema Bal are also seen holding the calf. The members can be seen putting a lot of effort to rescue the elephant from the swelling river.
Though the full video of the rescue operation is unavailable, the original video comprises several pictures of the rescue operation.
As reported, the three-four month-old baby elephant was found in a river on the Assam-Arunachal border on July 1. The calf was rescued by a team of SSB personnel in a healthy condition. They later handed over the calf to the forest department. However, the calf was yet to be reunited with its mother.
Diverse comments started coming on twitter. IFS Officer Susanta Nanda hailed the effort of the SSB personnel and said he saluted the effort of the real life heroes. One user wrote wonderful team effort.
Another user gave his love and respect to the rescue team.
